The first pillar of Butterfly Squad is our award winning mental health and wellbeing programme. A series of animated classroom-based lessons that develops awareness and enhances understanding of their emotional literacy. This is a step-by-step, transformational, formula-based programme that provides children with a strong cognitive foundational platform leading to higher attainment and improved performance. Equipping children with tools and techniques, arms them with resilience and empowers them to be in charge of their own emotions, feelings, actions, reactions and choices. This supports raised self-esteem, confidence, courage and much more.

EPISODE 1 - MAGIC WAND

Learning Objective: To recognise my own emotions and to identify which behaviours and feelings I would like to change about myself.

Synopsis: Welcome to Butterfly Squad, where we empower children to be the best versions of themselves, whatever that looks like for them. During the ‘Magic Wand’ episode, the children are introduced to Nik and Mike who will be their guides throughout this journey. They will show the children how to identify when they are happy or sad and most importantly, what has made them feel this way. The children will finish this episode with the power to be awake to what is happening around them throughout the day. Let the transformation begin…

EPISODE 2 - PARROT & FAIRY

Learning Objective: To identify the differences in the choices I make which will ultimately raise my self confidence.

Synopsis: Episode 2 introduces the children to Parrot and Fairy, who represent their inner positive and negative voices. We take the children through the process of understanding the difference in making the ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ choices and knowing that ultimately, they are individually responsible for them. They will leave this episode with the realisation that they are in charge of the choices they make and the feelings associated with them.

EPISODE 3 - LIFESHOCKS

Learning Objective: To identify how to manage my feelings and choices from scenarios that are happening throughout the day.

Synopsis: During this episode the children will complete their cognitive foundation. We explain to them how to recognise a lifeshock and provide a workable formula for unlocking the hidden steps within the reaction process. This is where putting themselves in charge of their choices, actions, reactions and feelings really comes into play. There is no turning back from here.

EPISODE 4 - WORDS ARE NOT FOR HURTING

Learning Objective: To understand how powerful my words are and the effect they can have on myself and others. 

Synopsis: Episode 4 is where the children are gifted their first tool that will enable them to start managing their own feelings. They will leave this episode with the understanding of the difference between kind and unkind words and will be emphatic to the feelings of others creating an environment of mutual respect within the classroom and playground. This is where they will also begin their hero journey as they learn that it takes courage to be kind.

EPISODE 5 - HERO

Learning Objective: To identify the qualities that my heroes have, recognise that I also have these qualities and to start believing in myself.

Synopsis: During this episode we will explore the qualities the children identify in their heroes. They will come to recognise that they already have these same qualities and are able to strengthen them by focusing on being their own heroes. This is where they will start to believe in themselves, realise they have the power to enhance their own characteristics and begin their transformation into powerful leaders of the next generation.

EPISODE 6 - TAKING BACK YOUR POWER

Learning Objective: To learn how to take control of my own life by managing my own actions and choices.

Synopsis: Taking Back My Power is all about taking control of your own life by being proactive with your actions and choices. Your power is your self confidence, which you can either gain or lose, depending on whether you listen to your parrot or your fairy. The children will finish this episode with the knowledge of what it feels like to be powerful and how to achieve it.

EPISODE 7 - LET IT GO

Learning Objective: To develop how to detach myself from my emotions.

Synopsis: During this episode we focus on helping the children to control their own emotions by having the knowledge and understanding of how something makes them feel. Holding on to emotions, feelings and behaviours that do not serve them can create extended behaviour patterns and limiting beliefs. By the end of this episode the children will have the power to recognise when they are holding onto something and the technique to let it go.

EPISODE 8 - BUTTERFLIES

Learning Objective: To develop my own self-esteem and the self-esteem of others.

Synopsis: The Butterflies episode teaches children about respect for others. They will discover how words and actions can raise and lower the self-esteem of those around them. After finishing this episode the children will understand the power of kindness and how you can use it to raise someone's self-worth. The beauty of raising the self-esteem of others is that in doing so you are also lifting your own.

EPISODE 9 - PROUD MOMENTS

Learning Objective: To reflect on my accomplishments and recognise the value in being proud of myself.

Synopsis: In this episode the children discover what it feels like to be proud of themselves every day and therefore enhancing their self-worth. This is achieved by encouraging them to focus on their smaller accomplishments and realise that a series of small achievements can lead to them reaching big goals.

EPISODE 10 - CRABS IN THE TANK

Learning Objective: To understand that I have my own voice and that the decisions and choices I make are my own responsibility.

Synopsis: Episode 10 drives home the importance and power of independent choice making, raising self-esteem and confidence to even higher levels. It shows the children that they have the power to stand out from the crowd and be a leader of themselves, not a follower of others. They will finish this episode with the ability to focus on their inner voice and the confidence to use it. 

EPISODE 11 - CHOCOLATE POO

Learning Objective: To define and recognise the impact of the lies and excuses we make to ourselves and others.

Synopsis: This episode delivers the importance and power of truth telling. Initially it starts by eliminating the habits that can be formed from the ease of creating lies and excuses, no matter how small. They will begin to develop the knowledge, understanding and feeling of identifying how this can affect those around them. By the end of this episode they will have learnt their most important tool, that the excuses they make to themselves are the ones that will ultimately hold them back in life the most.

EPISODE 12 - THE COMFORT ZONE

Learning Objective: To recognise when I am in my comfort zone and have the confidence to step out of it.

Synopsis:  During this episode we dig deeper into the world of Butterfly Squad. We visit The Comfort Zone, which is where the parrot lives. He does everything he can to keep them in The Comfort Zone as he uses their power to hold them back from reaching their full potential. The children will discover how to recognise when they are in the comfort zone and develop the necessary technique to challenge themselves and be able to step out of it. Once they are free of listening to the parrot, they can make their way to where the magic happens.

EPISODE 13 - GRATITUDE

Learning Objective: To learn how to appreciate my own life by recognising all that I have.

Synopsis: In Gratitude, the children discover the power of recognising all the things they have and understand the power in focusing their appreciation on them. Gratitude can transform common days into holidays, turn routine jobs into joy and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.  A deep rooted life changing episode leaving them with the knowledge, understanding and feeling of what true gratitude brings.

EPISODE 14 - SUPERSHOCKS

Learning Objective: To recognise when positive events happen and how they can affect my life.

Synopsis: Super Shocks are the opposite of Lifeshocks. While Lifeshocks are negatives, Super Shocks are always positive. During this episode the children learn the benefits of noticing all the wonderful things that happen throughout their day so that when a Lifeshock inevitably happens, they find it easy to deal with.

EPISODE 15 - SECRET NINJA MAGIC POWERS

Learning Objective: To reflect upon all the tools and techniques I have learnt so far.

Synopsis: Episode 15 gives the children the chance to review all of the previous episodes in a clear and condensed manner. During this recollection episode the children have the opportunity to truly understand and absorb the knowledge of the tools they have and how to use them. 

EPISODE 16 - HOW MY LIFE HAS CHANGED

Learning Objective: To acknowledge the transformation I have created within myself and recognise that the power to define my own destiny is within me forever.

Synopsis: Today is graduation day. The day the children become fully fledged ninjas of their own minds. During this episode we give the children the opportunity to take a moment and acknowledge the changes they have created within themselves. By the end of this episode they will have cemented how their outlook has changed and how positive behaviour and choices have impacted their life.  Now, go spread your wings and fly as part of a powerful future generation.
